about our sessions

How it works

We offer bespoke, beneficial and unique remedial massage sessions

that provide recovery from the mental and physical stresses of everyday life.

Our sessions are built around you and your health goal, focusing on a combined treatment approach

which uses a unique toolkit of sport and holistic methods and techniques, to treat postural issues, stress, anxiety,

sports recovery and maintenance, and aches and pains.

All our treatments work to promote recovery and reduce stress physically, physiologically and psychologically, selecting and

tailoring the methods and techniques to the uniqueness of the individual, to ease muscular pain, relieve tension, and promote relaxation.

what to expect

Our sessions are as unique as you are.

For your first appointment, we plan in additional time to complete a consultation and assessments based on your intake form,

to build the perfect bespoke treatment plan for achieving your health and wellness goal.

We listen carefully to your preferences and what you want to achieve from your session,

then use this to determine which sequence of techniques will deliver maximum treatment efficacy.

Most of our sessions are centred around the heated Hydrotherm pillows, to perfectly position and support the body for pure comfort, giving you a 360 degree massage as you lie in perfect alignment.

deep tissue treatment

deep tissue treatment

Our deep tissue techniques are incorporated into sessions to balance underactive and overactive muscles, that can occur with poor posture and repetitive movement. A blend of holistic and remedial techniques work deeper into the muscles and fascia to relieve tension and adhesions, as a postural reset to restore function and mobility.

Our unique method uses a strength scoring system and breathwork to control the pressure, so we can work deeper whilst simultaneously switching off the body's stress response, to maximise the restorative and therapeutic benefits.

Benefits...

  • Postural reset - improves posture by helping to rectify muscular imbalances
  • Reduces stress and anxiety - decreases cortisol
  • Breaks down scar tissue
  • Reduces muscle tension and pain
  • Restores flexibility and range of movement
  • Improves circulation and increases cellular exchange
  • Regular massage can help to boost the immune system

Maintenance and recovery

shoulder injury

Sports massage

This style of bodywork is designed for hard working bodies that push limits, often used on clients who take their health and fitness seriously. Balancing work, life and sports can be challenging, often compromising on sleep and recovery which are essential to maintaining a healthy functioning body for optimal performance.

An active lifestyle can lead to soft tissue dysfunction caused by repetitive and strenuous activity, so we use this in sessions for clients who require recovery and maintenance work, or athletes preparing / recovering from a sporting event or training. Using a variety of deep manipulative techniques, including cold and heat therapy if required, this treatment works into soft tissue to allow the body to heal, perform and function more efficiently.

Benefits...

  • Increases flexibility and range of movement
  • Relieves muscular tension and soreness
  • Breaks down scar tissue
  • Promotes quicker healing of injuries
  • Reduces pain
  • Improves circulation and increases cellular exchange
  • Improves sports performance

neuromuscular release

I use this massage technique in most sessions to help relieve sore, tight muscles and imbalances. This specialist massage technique involves applying sustained pressure on tight muscle fibers, controlled with breathwork to relax and release soft tissue.

Benefits...

  • Assists muscles to return to resting length
  • Improves posture by helping to rectify muscular imbalances
  • Restores flexibility and range of movement
  • Relieves muscular tension and soreness
  • Improves circulation

Fire Cupping Therapy

This form of bodywork works differently to others by decompressing soft tissues using vacuum suction. Cupping works to lift and separate tissues from the skeleton, creating space for the suction technique to pull toxin build-up from deeper tissues to the skin surface, moving stagnation out of the body to relieve pain from muscle tension. Fire cupping pulls and stretches the muscles, tendons and connective tissue and the warmth helps to lengthen them. This is a fantastic treatment for assisting healing and recovery. Fire cupping also works deep into the  body through reverse massage, lifting and separating tissues through suction to relieve pain and speed up healing.

Benefits...

  • Relieves muscular tension and soreness
  • Increases linear length of muscles
  • Can be used around new tears and injuries in the early stages of treatment when massage cannot be applied
  • The reverse massage technique allows access to joint capsules and deep muscles groups
  • Increases blood supply to the area to relax and repair muscles

pnf stretching

Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), is an assisted stretching technique that can help improve range of motion. It works by stretching the muscle, contracting it isometrically against resistance, and then stretching it again to increase range of motion. There are a few different PNF techinques I use, predominenetly at the end of a session while the body is warm, for reducing the risk of injury, rehabilitation, or to compliment manual work on focus areas.clients

Benefits...

  • Increases range of motion (ROM)
  • Boost muscle strength and power
  • Increases muscle flexibility
